Starting the camera…

Stand about 1 to 1.5 m (3 to 5 ft) in front of a plain light wall, so no shadow falls on it, with the camera about 1 to 1.5 m (3 to 5 ft) from you. Face a window, remove glasses and keep a neutral face. The guide tells you when you are at the right distance from the camera. The camera image is analyzed on your device and is never recorded or uploaded.

About the Qatar visa photo maker tool

Qatar visa and residence applications ask for a recent colour photo, and getting it wrong means a trip back to the photo studio. We could not find the exact size on an official page of Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, so this page uses the size most guides give, 35 × 45 mm on a plain white background, and marks every number as a guideline. Some guides report 38 × 48 mm for residence permit forms; whichever form or service you use decides.

The rules all sources share are worth following whatever the size: a photo from the last six months, in colour, on plain white with no shadows on your face or behind you, a neutral expression with your mouth closed, both eyes open, and no head covering unless it is for religious reasons, with your face fully visible. Glasses are best removed. This tool finds your face, crops the photo so your head is at a standard size, can replace an off-white wall with plain white, and checks sharpness, lighting, tilt and the background.

To take the photo, stand in front of a plain light wall facing a window, and have someone photograph you at eye level from about a metre away. You get a 413 × 531 px JPEG at 300 DPI, which prints at exactly 35 × 45 mm, plus a 4 × 6 inch print sheet with several copies. If your form asks for another size, crop and resize the result with our Crop Image and Resize Image tools. Your photo stays on your device the whole time.

    Frequently asked questions

What size is a Qatar visa photo?

35 × 45 mm, which is 413×531 pixels at 300 DPI. We could not confirm an official head size; this tool uses 32–36 mm, crown (top of head) to chin (71%–80% of the height). Background: white, plain.

Is 35 × 45 mm the official Qatar visa photo size?

We could not confirm it on an official Qatari government page, so every number here is marked as a guideline. 35 × 45 mm on a white background is what most guides give for Qatar visa photos; some report 38 × 48 mm for residence permit forms. The Ministry of Interior service or the form you use decides, so check it before you print.

What do the sources agree on?

A recent colour photo (taken in the last six months), a plain white background with no shadows, a neutral expression with the mouth closed, eyes open, and no head covering except for religious reasons, with the face fully visible.

    How do I make a 38 × 48 mm photo instead?

Make the photo here, then crop and resize it with our Crop Image and Resize Image tools to the size your form asks for, keeping your face large and centred.

Can I wear glasses in a Qatar visa photo?

    Best removed.
